Jeri Zukoski CNM has 20 years experience specializing in vaginal birth after cesarean section and home style midwifery. After completing nurse-midwifery training at UCSF in 1986, she practiced in a private setting and managed prenatal high risk clinics. The biggest catch to date? A 12 pounds home born baby and all went very well. As a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, Jeri is an approved clinical preceptor and has enjoyed teaching student nurse-midwives, student nurses, and pre-med students from UC Berkeley for the past 13 years.
Regardless of insurance, her services are fully covered (unless Kaiser). Another bonus is that Jeri's clients may deliver at the Family Birth Center in Berkeley, or at the Birth Home in Pleasanton. Theses facilities are both covered by Hill Physicians, Medi-Cal, and most other insurances. Her calm style focuses on personalized, compassionate care involving the entire family, encouraging a holistic approach to pregnancy and childbirth. Jeri is also a fitness specialist, has a background in dance, and teaches private classes for her clients. She provides individual instruction on prenatal and postpartum conditioning for strength, flexibility and endurance.
You are invited to experience the warmth, creativity, and balance of her expertise in a setting where medical technology, if needed, is sensitively applied. Jeri's C-section rate is 8%, compared to the standard MD rate of 30%
"A thousand years ago the Chinese organized prenatal classes to guide a woman through pregnancy, believing that her emotions and biology together influenced the nature and future behavior and health of her child. The culture fostered her emotional tranquility as well as physical well-being. We too need a place that concerns itself not only with our bodies, but with our psyches and spirits,"
Leni Swartz, The World of the Unborn
"I will always be grateful to my gynecologist for recommending a CNM. Through her knowledge and wisdom, Jeri helped me realize my own strength and intuitive knowledge to give birth",
Rita McLennon.
